We have stopped by Matmagasinet a few times and their outdoor terrace is lovely on sunny days. The latest addition to this place is a section dedicated as a wine bar and it has been named Matmagasinet Vinbar. The wine bar has a small menu of risotto of the day, some pizzetta and some fresh cut charcuterie. The wine list is impressive, and it is the same wine list as the restaurant, but it is great to see that you can get a lot by the glass with the use of Coravin.
We stopped by on a lovely spring day and enjoyed some food on the terrace first. My trout confit served with hollandaise and asparagus was great served with a glass of refreshing Sauvignon blanc and Nikki had a version of Moules frites but there was a scent of curry to it so that was a special twist. The fries were tasty as they were fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft inside! Inside the wine bar we also had some charcuterie snack while we enjoyed a glass of Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the legendary Monte bello vinyards. The tannins were still very present of course so I think it needs a few years in the cellar before it can shine. Congratulations to Matmagasinet with the addition to the concept.
