Delicatessen Stavanger opened in January this year in Pedersgata. The building is brand new and the wine bar Veranda Vin is opening upstairs in May 2025. We were there early on a Friday night – this was the only available table this night and it shows that the place is very popular. There are some restaurants that have some tapas on the menu, but it has been a while since Stavanger had a dedicated tapas restaurant. For some reason we did not have great expectations, but the first impression was very good as the interior is lovely and the service was good.
The menu was also quite extensive and even with some tapas of the week or month in addition to the regular menu. As we were 4, we could order quite a bit and ended up ordering kumato tomatoes with labneh, cheese, sourdough bread from nearby Molino bakery , prawns in garlic and chili, grilled octopus, calamares, chorizo, navajas, boquerones (anchovies in vinegar sauce), artichokes and so on. The food was served quite fast, and it was presented in a delicate way as it came on platters on a wooden plank. To get straight to the point: this was quite a feast, and we enjoyed all the different tapas dishes that we got this evening. The wine selection is not bad either and the prices seem to be reasonable for many of the wines by the bottle.
This was a great evening, and we look forward to going there again. They have also some tables outside of the restaurant and this will be a perfect spot for tapas and a glass of wine on a sunny summer day. If you are heading to Delicatessen Tapasbar , make sure to bring some friends so that you can order more of the tapas and taste more!
Pros:
- only dedicated tapas place in Stavanger
- tables outside
- lots of options on the menu
Cons:
- Can’t think of any
