I stopped by Happy Corner Burger & Bar on a Saturday afternoon in beautiful weather. I decided to have lunch outside with a view to Østervåg as it is a bustling area – it is located just around the corner from Fargegata (the colorful street) where many tourists and locals stop by on a Saturday. The focus at Happy Corner is on burgers, but they also serve some chicken wings and salad.
I ordered from a QR code at the table but you can also order at the bar counter inside, and they came to confirm my order as I had added something to the burger setup. I got my Jack Daniel’s burger served after 15-20 minutes and it was served on a wooden tray together with fries. The burger was a pretty thing as it came with salad, onion rings, bacon, tomatoes, lots of cheese (I added some extra cheese) and it was even topped with onion rings! It was impressive in size and appearance but basically impossible to eat with my hands, but it did come with cutlery. The patty of the burger was 180 grams and was a bit too compact in my opinion and it was well done – I usually prefer it medium done. I would also have enjoyed a more defined grill taste, and it was not easy to taste the Jack Daniel’s inspired BBQ sauce. The bun was quite good – initially I peeled off the top, but I ended up eating that as well.
I also got a generous portion of fries that were very good but not a lot of ketchup. When I asked for more ketchup, that was not a problem – apart from the fact that I got chili sauce by mistake.
All in all, a pretty good burger and it was great to sit outside to enjoy the food in the great weather! Note that Happy Corner will also deliver burgers to guests in some bars in the Fargegata area!

Cons: - burger was a bit compact - would like to have more grill taste
